This is a part of the classic trekking tour of the region. This tour is made for people who like culture and trekking. While in Leh we visit some beautiful monasteries. On our way of trekking we visit Pughtal, precariously made monastery in a rock cut. Trekking is comparatively much easier unlike in Lamayuru/Padam except when we cross Shingo La (5050 m).

01 DELHI
Arrival in Delhi, transfer to the hotel and check-in. Afternoon sightseeing of the Old and New Delhi.

02 DELHI/LEH
Early morning transfer to the national airport and flight to Leh. After arriving, transfer to the hotel and check-in. Afternoon we walk to the Kings Palace and the Tsemo monastery.

03 LEH
We visit Hemis, Shey, Tikse, and Spituk Monasteries and Choglamsar village.

04 LEH/LAMAYURU
Start of our overland drive tour with bus or jeeps, enroute visit of 2 Gompas, Likir and Alchi, a beautiful monastery. Overnight in tents.

05 LAMAYURU/KARGIL
First we visit the famous monastery of Lamayuru, then further drive over Mulbekh, where we can see the Maitreya Relief, to Kargil. Overnight in a simple hotel.

06 KARGIL/RANGDUM
Drive on a difficult road to Rangdum. We visit the monastery. Overnight in tents.

07 RANGDUM/PADUM
Drive over Pensi La (4401 m) to Padum. Overnight in tents.

08 PADUM/ZANGLA/KARSHA/PADUM
Drive with the bus to Zangla to go up to the ruins of the Castle, from where you will have a nice view. The Castle temple has Thankas, wood figures and Kashmiri bronze figures. Come back to Thongde to see the Monastery Castle Marpa Ling, above is the Tshokang and the Maitreya temple. Further to the hanging bridge near Karsha, where we cross the river. Visit Karsha Gompa, the biggest monastery in Zanskar and back.

09 PADUM/MONE
High over the Lingti valley we see the Bardan Gompa, with its famous prayer wheel (180 cm high). After visiting further to Mone. Possible to camp opposite monastery.

10 MONE/ISHAR/PIPULA
Along the Lingti river we reach Ishar and later Pipula our camp place.

11 PIPULA/SURLE/PURNE
Again along the Lingti river we trek to Surle and nearby by Purne we will have our camp for 2 nights.

12 PURNE/PHUGTAL MONASTERY/PURNE
Today we visit Phugtal monastery, it is a one day trip. This monastery is beautiful, placed in a huge cave.

13 PRUNE/KURGIAKH
At 4000 mts we will have today our camp place, it is the first time.

14 KURGIAKH/LUKUNG (GOMBORANGAN)
The scenery is changing, it is from now on very rocky and we have to cross several times some rivers. Today our camp at 4600 mts.

15 LUKUNG/SHINGO LA/CHUMINAKPO
Slowly we waked up from Padum at 3600 mts and today with the Shingo La at 5050 mts. 2 hrs first we have to walk up and after the pass 2 hrs down. Later we reach the Chuminakpo alm at 4600 m.

16 CHUMINAKPO/ZANSKAR SUMDO/CAMP
Descent now to the Lahaul valley, about after 7 hrs we reach our camp place but only after traversing a river near Zanskar Sumdo.

17 CAMP/DARCHA/KEYLONG
Again 4-5 hrs walk to Darcha, it is our last trekking day, then drive to Keylong, 2-3 hrs. O/N in camp or simple hotel.

18 KEYLONG/MANALI
We drive over the Rotang pass to Manali, the main town in the Kullu valley. After arrival check-in at hotel.

19 MANALI/KULLU/DELHI
Short drive from Manali to Kullu, then flight to Delhi. After arrival transfer to the hotel and check-in.

20 DELHI/DEPARTURE
Transfer to the airport and flight back.
